Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council  

OAEM is a proud member of the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council. 
Established in 1993, the council promotes fire safety and public education through sponsorships and partnerships with various groups and individuals interested in public safety. The council is a non-profit corporation and is comprised of a board of directors and other members of the council who are representatives from fire services, industry and the public. The council is a critical forum for provincial experts to come together to share insights, experiences and ideas to develop effective strategies for promoting fire safety in Ontario. Council members contribute to the development of public education campaigns utilized by the fire service across Ontario to prevent fires and safeguard Ontario's communities.

CIFAL York is part of UNITAR's global network of training centers for knowledge-sharing, training, and capacity-building for leaders, local authorities, and civil society. Established in 2020 as a partnership between UNITAR, York University and York Region, CIFAL York started its operation in June 2021 as the first CIFAL Centre in Canada.

The CIFAL-York Disaster Risk, Emergency Management, and Humanitarian Actions Technical Advisory Committee (DEMTAC) is composed of academics and professionals to provide expert input, direction, and support towards various types of executive, leadership, and civil society training and knowledge sharing around disaster risk reduction and emergency management.


The Ontario Municipal Social Services Association (OMSSA) is a non-profit association whose members are Ontario's Consolidated Municipal Service Managers (CMSMs) and District Social Services Administration Boards (DSSABs).
