 This exciting, reality based - live fire - training day will allow Emergency Managers to:

Learn about the unique challenges faced by Site Incident Command during rail emergencies to allow for better interactions with the EOC (What are the typical requests made by Site Incident Command to the EOC during rail car incidents?). 

Be educated on the unique challenges associated with responding to rail car incidents: Freight, Passenger, HAZMAT. 

Get familiarized with the Emergency Response Guidebook for identification and evacuations. 

Gain an understanding of the computer-based modelling systems/technologies that can aid response. 

Learn and discuss the anatomy of a rail car, and the safety features of rail systems. 

Become familiar with the hazards associated with the transfer of hazardous materials within your community. 

Participate in "Live Fire" extinguishment of a vehicle fire. 

Certificates of attendance from OAEM/CN Rail/FESTI issued to all who complete the entire day.
