Our Story
Built by Practitioners, for Practitioners
The Ontario Association of Emergency Managers was founded by a group of dedicated emergency management professionals who recognized the need for a unified provincial voice. From its earliest days, OAEM has been driven by a simple belief: that emergency managers are stronger, more effective, and better prepared when they work together.
Over more than two decades, OAEM has grown into a province-wide network of hundreds of professionals — municipal emergency managers, provincial coordinators, first responders, planners, and academics — all united by a commitment to building safer, more resilient communities across Ontario.
